It’s entirely up to you whether you wish to be present during services such as wood floor repair, restoration, sanding, maintenance, or installation. However, we highly encourage your presence during the service delivery. Being on-site allows you to address any concerns directly with our team, provide specific instructions, and ensure your requirements are met.

If you cannot be present, we recommend being available during the following times:

  • On the first day: To grant access to the team and provide any initial instructions, unless alternative arrangements have been made with our staff.
  • For specific tasks: On a date agreed with our team in advance, particularly when your confirmation is needed, such as for staining projects or selecting beading/skirting profiles.
  • On the day of completion: To inspect the finished work, sign an evaluation sheet, and settle the payment.

If you're unable to be on-site during any of these stages, simply discuss alternative arrangements with our team in advance, and we will work to accommodate your schedule.

Yes, all services provided by Sanding.uk are fully covered by comprehensive insurance, including Public Liability, Treatment Risk, and Employers Liability Insurance. This ensures peace of mind and protection for both our team and clients throughout the duration of our services.

We are committed to ensuring that all of our wood floor restoration and repair services meet the highest standards. If you have any concerns after the service, we will thoroughly investigate the issue and address it, including redoing or rectifying any issues.

Our Service Guarantee covers the replacement of materials, including the flooring itself, if there’s improper use of products or materials, or if there was improper planning during the service. Please note, however, that this guarantee may be limited for wood floor restoration services if the floor was not originally installed by our team.

Exemptions and limitations of our Service Guarantee include:

  • Damage caused by third-party service providers or faulty appliances leading to leaks, high humidity, or increased subfloor moisture that affects the condition and appearance of the floor after the service.
  • Services involving floor coverings that have reached the end of their usable lifespan, such as engineered wood floors with significant wear on the top hardwood layer.
  • Gap filling with resin fillers during the installation of old wood floors.

Additionally, we recommend securing a guarantee for sealing products directly from the manufacturer, as the lifespan of sealants can vary depending on usage. Generally, the expected durability of sealants is as follows:

  • One-component sealants typically last at least 3 years in low-traffic areas (e.g., bedrooms).
  • One-component sealants usually last about 1 year in high-traffic areas (e.g., hallways).
  • Two-component sealants can last around 2 years in high-traffic areas.

Payment for all services provided by Sanding.uk is due on the day of completion, minus any deposit paid in advance. A deposit is required upfront for materials that will be used during the service.

For water-based varnishes, the first coat typically takes about one hour to dry, while the final coat may take up to two hours. Light traffic can be allowed after this time. However, to ensure the best results and avoid damage, furniture should not be placed back on the floor until at least twelve hours after the last coat has been applied.

Yes, Sanding.uk collaborates with insurance companies and accepts insurance jobs. Before any service is booked, either you or the insurance company must provide written confirmation that the quote from Sanding.uk is approved. Gap filling is generally covered by our guarantee, with the exception of gap filling with resin filler during the restoration and repair of old hardwood floors. We always ensure that the floor is properly stabilized before proceeding with gap filling during a wood floor restoration or repair. The durability and effectiveness of gap filling depend on the stability of the floor, its current condition, the extent of wear and tear, and the condition of its support or joists.
